Please be advised that our local appellate rules were amended on March 29, 2017.  Specifically, Loc.App.R. 13.2(B)(1)(c) and (d), which previously only prohibited the use of a juvenile’s name and the name of the victim of a sexual offense, now additionally prohibit naming any person that is likely to reveal the identity of the juvenile or the identity of the victim of a sexual offense.  The rule requires that such people should be identified by a generic term (e.g., “mother” or “father”) or initials. Additionally, Loc.App.R. 20(B) was amended to require that all mandamus actions involving compliance with R.C. 149.43, Ohio’s Public Records Act, be referred automatically to the mediation conference program for mediation.
