Tim McCormack, Judge of the Ohio Court of Appeals, began serving his term in the Eighth Appellate District on January 2, 2013. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio’s Miami University and his J.D. degree from the law school at Cleveland State University.

Tim McCormack began his career in public service on the Euclid City Council. He then served in the Ohio House where he received the Outstanding Legislator designation by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. He served in the Ohio Senate for two full terms where he vice-chaired the Finance Committee and chaired the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Tim McCormack was subsequently elected four times as the Cuyahoga County Auditor. There he received a national award for best practices in fiscal responsibility. He was elected to two terms as Cuyahoga County Commissioner. He was recognized for his highly innovative work in the areas of welfare reform, early childhood education, and child protective services. His work as an effective County Commissioner resulted in Cuyahoga County receiving the nation's highest rating, AAA, from Fitch for strong budget standards and financial management policies.

In 2005, Tim McCormack was appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court as a Commissioner of the Victims Crimes Division of the Ohio Court of Claims, hearing appeals of crime victims from throughout Ohio.

Tim McCormack is recently widowed, having lost his wife Valerie. He is the happy father of four sons.

Serving the Eighth Appellate District fulfills a lifelong aspiration of Tim McCormack in that it provides the opportunity to devote oneself to enhancing the heritage of Ohio and American law.
